Little Silver, New Jersey
As one of the most beautiful areas in New Jersey, Little Silver is an incredible place to live. In the early 1800’s this town consisted of mostly farms, saltwater marshes and woods. Resort hotels became opening upon the completion of John T. Lovett’s famous nursery. This began to increase the population, especially during the summer months. Not too long after, a dock was completed at the end of the Point of the Little Silver Peninsula. This gave access to the community to many more people via steamboats. In 1923, Little Silver officially became it’s own Borough after separating from Shrewsbury Township. Want to learn more about the history of Little Silver?
